GeekAustin anniversary party — what better time for an interview?

October 1st, 2008 · Posted by Julie Gomoll

Last night was the 8th anniversary party for GeekAustin. Once again, I had a blast at a local tech event. Why I expend energy worrying I won’t know anyone at these events I don’t know.

Lots of folks thought it was a lousy turnout. And while it’s true there have been bigger GeekAustin events, I think the nature of the venue — Union Park — contributed to that perception. It’s three distinctly different rooms (main bar, BoomBoom Room, and the roof), which makes it hard to really assess who’s all there, and crowds seem smaller than they actually are.

Whatever. It was fun. And I got interviewed by Kimberlie Dykeman, which was actually really fun. I get so energized talking about LaunchPad Coworking, and coworking in general, it’s easy to do interviews. I just gush, and it usually comes across just fine :)

Here’s the interview:
