GeekAustin logoLaunchpad Coworking got a nice shout out the other day from The Austin American-Statesman’s tech writer Omar L. Gallaga. Like Gallaga, I have my own reasons for sometimes skipping Happy Hours and other gatherings. He has new father duties that keep him home. I have severe loathing of the growing traffic problem and the fact it’s such a hassle to get to parties scheduled just post-5 p.m.

But, also like Gallaga, I’m glad I accepted the invitation to this party, co-hosted by RefreshAustin and GeekAustin at J. Black’s Feel Good Lounge. It was an absolute blast and I’m eager for the next one. The free-for-all gathering of geeks was a good chance to get out, make eye contact, shake hands, and say howdy to my fellow tech-minded compadres in the community of virtual virtuosos. More than a hundred folks showed up — an excellent opportunity for me to spread the LaunchPad Coworking word in person.

I’m still trying to picture Jules as a barrista … brain … exploding …

Omar also makes my brain hurt – Statesman column plus amazing work with LCP (http://www.lcp.org/) plus baby! Not possible … brain … exploding …

    Bon chance!

PS: I usually get a decaf iced latte. Caffeine makes me stick to the ceiling like a gecko. But you know that.
